Varroa Mite Wash
A critical tool for reliable Varroa monitoring. This wash provides both commercial and hobbyist beekeepers a way to diagnose infestation levels quickly and efficiently. Made from durable plastic with a tight-fitting, leak-free lid and transparent bowl for accurate counting.
Required Equipment:
Washing fluid (alcohol-based) and protective clothing/gloves.
1. Collect the Bees
Collect a sample (200-300 bees) from a frame of capped brood. Ensure the queen is isolated and safe. Submerge bees in washing liquid immediately.
2. Varroa Separation
Gently shake the tool up and down or rotate for 60 seconds. Avoid excessive foaming.
3. Counting & Calculation
Count mites through the transparent bowl.
300 sample: Total ÷ 3 = % Infestation
200 sample: Total ÷ 2 = % Infestation

1. Collect & Sedate
Collect 200-300 bees. Close the lid slightly and spray CO2 to put bees to sleep. Gently shake to dislodge mites through the basket.
2. Counting & Release
Return sleeping bees to the hive entrance. Count mites in the transparent bowl.
300 sample: Total ÷ 3 = %
200 sample: Total ÷ 2 = %

Oxalic Acid Vaporizer
Oxalic acid is a powerful organic compound used to fight Varroa. This vaporizer allows for efficient treatment by turning crystals into a fine vapor that permeates the hive body.
⚠️ Safety Note:
Always wear protective eye wear and rubber gloves. Never breathe in the vapors. Ensure the hive is completely sealed during treatment.
Treatment Cycle:
Vapors do not treat mites in closed cells. Repeat treatment every 10 days (Day 1, Day 10, and Day 20) to catch mites as they emerge.
